- The Academy
At a very young age, Helio Gracie learned traditional Japanese Jiu-Jitsu techniques from his older brother, Carlos. In the late 1920s, he began to modify these techniques to accommodate his frail physique with the objective of developing a system that would enable him to defend himself against larger opponents. After years of refinement, he proved his art's effectiveness by routinely defeating larger and stronger opponents, some of whom outweighed him by as much as 100 pounds. As a result, Helio's techniques quickly became the new expression of Jiu-Jitsu in Brazil and set the stage for a worldwide revolution in martial arts.
- Training Programs
Although Gracie or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the most effective martial art on the planet, it is a relatively young martial art. Realizing that the key to global dissemination of pure Gracie Jiu-Jitsu was the development of a formalized curriculum, the Gracie Academy dedicated several years to organizing all the techniques in the most logical sequence based on their complexity and usefulness in combat. Furthermore, we conduct all group classes with the utmost concern for safety, and we demand that all students treat each other respectfully regardless of skill level, gender, race, nationality, or creed. At the Gracie Academy we don't teach people how to fight. We give people confidence so they don't need to fight.
Gracie Combatives
Gracie Combatives is the official beginner program of the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy. In this program, students learn the 36 most important techniques in a fun, safe, and cooperative training environment.
The Master Cycle
Beyond blue belt, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu consists of hundreds of advanced techniques, all of which we have organized into a clearly defined, systematic curriculum called the Master Cycle.

Nivel 1: Cinta Azul
A 1 Nivel Certified Training Center está autorizado para enseñar el curso completo de Gracie CombativesTM y es capaz de llevarlo desde el principio hasta cinturón azul.

Ursprünglich für die US Army entwickelt wurde, ist Gracie Combatives nur natürlich, dass ganz auf die Beherrschung dieser 36 wesentliche Techniken gewidmet. Nachdem die Schüler perfektioniert alle Gracie Combatives Techniken individuell, sie in Anspruch nehmen zu wöchentlichen Reflex Entwicklung Klassen teilnehmen wurden sie lernen, wie man sie in verschiedenen Kombinationen auszuführen. Sobald ein Student Meister alle Techniken in jeder Kombination, qualifizieren sie sich für eine Beförderung nach blauen Gürtel getestet werden.

Robert Dixon
Rob Dixon is an established Martial Arts Instructor with 30 years experience. He began learning Martial Arts at the age of 11, obtaining a black belt in Bujinkai Karate by the age of 17. He currently holds the rank of 5th Dan in Karate. Around 2006, he developed a strong interest in submission grappling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and realizing how effective it was, began learning some fundamental techniques, initially just to pass on to his own students. This journey led to the discovery of The Gracie Academy Instructor Certification Program, culminating in Rob completing the course at Gracie Academy HQ in Jan 2012. Rob is now keen to share Gracie Jiu Jitsu with as many people as possible, through his classes at his established Martial Arts Centre.
